Fireproof


Fireproof is an action packed love story that inspire into the world of firefighter, his wife, and a marriage worth rescuing. Captain Caleb Holt is a firefighter in Albany, he always warn to his fire department that ''Never leave your partner behind.'' But Caleb's home life is different story, his seven years marriage to his wife Catherine always argue over the common issues of married couple like money, housework, and outside interests. They are at the point where they both are almost ready to call it quits. Catherine always feel pressured to her home's life until she decided to get divorce and takes off her wedding ring. While Caleb claims to his friend and co-workers that Catherine is over sensitive and disrespecful, Catherine simultaneously claims to her friends that Caleb is insensitive to her needs and doesn't listen to her. Further she complain that Caleb's addiction to internet pornography and a large sum of money $24,000 he has saved up for a fishing boat he intends to buy, while ignoring the fact that she disabled mother is in need of hospital equipment that she cannot afford, and which insurance refuses to cover. Caleb tells his father John that Catherine wants to divorce with him, then Caleb's father challenges him to commit to a 40 days test called, ''The Love Dare.'' Caleb agrees to do the test, but more for the sake of his father than his marriage. Catherine initially sees through Caleb's half hearted attempts to win back her heart, which deepens Caleb's frustration. But with his father's encouragement, Caleb continues with The Love Dare, and eventually makes a life changing commitment to God without Catherine knows. Meanwhile, Catherine begins flirting with Dr. Gavin Keller at the hospital where she works. She begins open up to him about some of her problems telling that she cannot afford her mother need for the hospital equipment. As she's no longer wearing her wedding ring, Keller doesn't know Catherine is married. Ones Caleb was injured during his work, Caleb was sent to hospital where Catherine works and by the time Keller is treating Caleb and had knows that Caleb is Catherine's husband. Through the guidance of The Love Dare, and as a result of his commitment to Christ, Caleb begins to understand what it means to truly love his wife. He begins pulling more of his time at home doing housework and sometimes even leaving roses for his wife. Soon Caleb even finds the motivation to destroy his computer and everything on it. However, Catherine is still intent on filing for divorce. When Catherine goes to the home care store to talk with a clerk about the unpaid equipment her mother needs, the clerk said that all the equipment has been paid for in full. Catherine thought that it was Keller that paid the $24,300 price and   she goes for meeting Keller at the hospital to thank him. Meanwhile, Caleb find out about Dr. Keller through a card for Catherine that she left at home, Caleb goes to see Dr. Keller and warns him that, even with his mistakes, he will not step aside and let Keller have Catherine without a fight. The doctor get the message and would not dare to approach Catherine again. When Catherine was sick in bed, Caleb decided to take care of her. Catherine wonder that Caleb's behavior is different and Caleb start to tell her the truth and apologizes for his selfish and asks her forgiveness. But Catherine still cannot bring herself to trust him and believe he has changed. Days later, Catherine return to the home care store and had knows that is not Dr. keller paid all the price but only paid for $300 and the $24,000 is Caleb paid for her mother. When she get knows it was Caleb, she had shocked and back home to put back her wedding ring. She went to Caleb workplace and forgive him. At the end they renews their wedding in an outdoor ceremony, this time as a covenant with God. ( From the movie story, we should not arguing each other after married but we have to be patient or pray for asking help from God, and each person need to discuss together to solve problem from the mistakes that we have done. Lastly, never give up in everything what we have to succeed. )
